10 Lucrative and Growing Jobs That AI Won’t Replace Anytime Soon

Artificial intelligence seems to be on everyone’s minds these days. Some people embrace AI, while others fear it.

Many workers worry that AI will steal away their livelihoods. And while that might be true for some jobs, other professions will likely require the human touch for years to come.

Recently, Resume Genius used data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics to identify the fastest-growing jobs that AI is unlikely to replace. All of these jobs pay more than the U.S. median salary of $48,060.

10. Orthotists and prosthetists

Median annual salary: $78,100

Projected job growth by 2032: 15%

Orthotists and prosthetists measure, design and fit artificial limbs and other medical devices. Both a master’s degree and residency typically are necessary to work in this profession. Some states require licensure.

9. Epidemiologists

Median annual salary: $81,390

Projected job growth by 2032: 27%

Epidemiologists investigate the causes of illness and injury and look for patterns in disease. A master’s degree is usually required, and some in this profession have a doctoral degree in epidemiology or medicine.

8. Audiologists

Projected job growth by 2032: 11%

Audiologists diagnose and treat patients with hearing disorders, such as hearing loss and tinnitus. They may also help to diagnose and treat balance problems. A doctor of audiology degree is usually required, and some states may also mandate licensure.

Projected job growth by 2032: 19%

Speech-language pathologists treat people with communication disorders, such as speech, language and fluency issues. They also may treat people with swallowing problems. A master’s degree is usually required, and all states also require licensure.

Projected job growth by 2032: 12%

Occupational therapists help people to regain daily living skills in the wake of injuries, illnesses or disabilities. They also may help patients regain work-based skills. A master’s degree is usually necessary, and all states require licensure.

5. Physical therapists

Projected job growth by 2032: 15%

Physical therapists use rehabilitation techniques and other tools to help people who are injured or ill to regain movement and reduce pain. A doctor of physical therapy degree is required, and every state also requires licensure.

4. Medical and health services managers

Projected job growth by 2032: 28%

Medical and health services managers plan and coordinate health services. Typically, you need only a bachelor’s degree to enter the field, although some employers might require advanced degrees. Work experience in administrative and clinical roles can lead to advancement.

3. Veterinarians

Projected job growth by 2032: 20%

Veterinarians diagnose and treat illness and injury in pets , livestock and other animals. They also perform vaccinations and surgery. A doctor of veterinary medicine degree and state licensure are required in this field.

Nurse practitioners provide health care services to patients and often coordinate patient care. You must earn a master’s degree in one of the advanced practice registered nurses roles. State licensure is required, as is passing a national certification exam.

Often known as PAs, physician assistants examine, diagnose and treat patients. They work under the supervision of a physician. A master’s degree is required, as is state licensure.
