Top 10 Career Fields for Remote Jobs
While the workplace has evolved to include many career categories, the most common industries for remote work include:
- Computer & IT
- Project Management
- Business Development
- Operations
- Accounting & Finance
- Medical & Health
- Sales
- Customer Service
- Communications
- Marketing
Top Remote Fields Analysis
The top career categories listed represent the industries with the highest levels of remote job options.
Computer & IT held the top spot as the career category with the most remote job listings. Historically, this category has been a leader in the remote job marketplace and is considered to be one of the strongest and most promising fields for work-from-home jobs.
All of the top categories, however, showed steady growth throughout 2024, underscoring the demand for remote talent across a wide variety of industries. While Project Management and Operations remained relatively steady in remote job opportunities, both Accounting & Finance and Marketing grew upwards of 30% over the last year.
Although the total number of remote job postings was lower overall, Business Development and Communications demonstrated some of the highest growth rates throughout the year, with each industry scaling enough to break into the top 10 rankings.
“We’re excited to spotlight the leading companies and careers for remote work in 2025,” said Toni Frana, Lead Career Professional at FlexJobs.
“As the job landscape continues to shift, it’s clear that remote work remains a top priority for workers — and employers. We hope the list of companies not only serves as a valuable resource for job seekers but empowers even more employers to expand their remote work opportunities in the year ahead.”
Top 10 Remote Job Titles
Similar to past rankings, the majority of remote job postings (70%) were targeted toward experienced-level roles.
However, remote jobs were also posted for managers, senior-level professionals, and entry-level job seekers.
Manager-level remote jobs (14%) and senior-level remote jobs (10%) accounted for nearly a quarter of listings, while entry-level remote jobs made up the remaining 6%.
The following list includes the top 10 remote job postings to be looking for from companies:
- Accountant

- Sales Development Representative
- Executive Assistant
- Customer Success Manager
- Product Manager
