If anyone in your household had a Marketplace plan in 2023, you should get Form 1095-A, Health Insurance MarketplaceĀ® Statement, by mail no later than mid-February. It may be available in your Marketplace account anytime from mid-January to February 1.

- It comes from the Marketplace, not the IRS.
- Keep your 1095-A forms with your important tax information, like W-2 forms and other records.
How to find your 1095-A online
- Log in to your account.
- Under “Your Existing Applications,” select yourĀ 2023Ā application āĀ notĀ your 2024 application.
- Select āTax Forms.”
- Download all 1095-As.
Whatās on Form 1095-A and why you need it
- Your 1095-A has information about Marketplace plans any member of your household had in 2023, including:
- Premiums paid
- Premium tax credits used
- A figure calledĀ

Check that your 1095-A is correct
- Carefully read the instructions on the back.
- Make sure itās correct. If anything about your coverage or household is wrong,Ā contact the Marketplace Call Center.Ā
- Make sure the information about the āsecond lowest cost Silver Planā (SLCSP) is correct.
How to know if your second lowest cost Silver plan information is correct
Look at Part III, column B of your 1095-A, titled āMonthly second lowest cost silver plan (SLCSP) premium.ā It should show figures for each month any household member had the Marketplace plan.
The SLCSP premium isĀ incorrectĀ if:
- Part III, Column B has a ā0ā or is blank for any month someone in your household had the Marketplace plan
- You had changes in your household that you didnāt tell the Marketplace about ā like having a baby, moving, getting married or divorced, or losing a dependent
Use the information from your 1095-A to reconcile
Once you have an accurate 1095-A and second lowest cost Silver plan premium, youāre ready to fill out Form 8962, Premium Tax Credit.

Probably because one of these applies:
- You changed Marketplace plans during the year
- You updated your application with new information ā like adding or removing a family member, or moving ā that resulted in a new enrollment in your plan
- Different household members had different plans
- If there are more than 5 members on the same plan
Youāll get a 1095-A too. Part III, Column C should be blank or have the number ā0.ā
If you want to checkĀ if you qualify for a premium tax credit based on your final income, complete Form 8962. If youĀ don’tĀ qualify for a premium tax credit, you don’t have to include Form 8962 when you file your taxes.
You may need to file an amended return using the information on your corrected 1095-A.Ā
