Donald Trump Takes New Approach Toward Crypto, Bashes Biden’s Hostile Administration

Former US President Donald Trump announced his intention to ensure the acceptance of cryptocurrency donations for his campaign donations.

He added that if cryptocurrencies are adopted, they should remain in the country.

Trump's Evolving Support for Cryptocurrencies

Electric Capital co-founder Avishal Garg expressed his admiration for what he sees as an evolution in Trump's stance on cryptocurrencies. Garg praised those who were advising him for doing an exceptional job. Garg added that if President Biden maintains an anti-crypto stance, crypto sentiment could shift from anti-Gary Gensler, Chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission, to anti-Biden and even anti-Democrats.

In late 2022, Trump obtained his first cryptocurrency tokens after launching a set of non-fungible tokens (NFT) for Trump digital trading cards. This project leveraged Trump's identity, likeness, and brand to distribute 45,000 NFTs, priced at $99 each.

Trump received royalties from the initial sale and a percentage of trading volumes in the secondary market. The project has been a huge success compared to the broader NFT market, with the minimum price currently exceeding $200.
